Latissimus Dorsi Stretch

Latissimus dorsi stretch won’t add mass, it can recover your flexibility and let you do more muscle workout such as pull-ups, lat pull-downs, and bent-over rows. Latissimus dorsi is the major muscle in the back that is responsible for arm extension and rotation of the arm. It connects the bones of the upper arm to the hip and spine, latissimus muscle also known as lats. We sit at work or drive the car, we feel pain in back muscles, so this exercise helps in recovering these muscles. Stretching before and after your workouts may also help prevent injuries or muscle pain, although the jury remains out on that point.

If you stretch before your exercises, warm up at least five minutes of light exercise to avoid pain in muscles. You can also search benefits of pushups every day if you want to relieve pain and have good posture in the upper and lower back.

Pain in Latissimus Dorsi:

Pain in lats occurs due to overuse and we can’t explain that where the pain actually locates because if we have lats pain, we feel pain in several muscles. To abstain from this pain, we should do lats stretching exercises. And follow the given instructions to remove pain in lats.

 

Instructions of Latissimus Dorsi Stretch:

  • Stand straight and tall, join your foot facing each other and hands too.
  • Extend your arms above your head and join hands.
  • Lean to the one side gently.
  • Hold this position until you feel a mild to sensible stretch in the side of your upper back and shoulder.
  • Hold this position for 5 seconds.
  • Now return to the starting position to do this again.
  • Repeat this exercise 10 times.
  • Now do this same exercise for the other side to remove the pain.

 

Tips:

Lats stretch is a cardio to improve the movements of lats muscles, so use these tips for this workout at home or wherever you want.

  • Generally, use one or two lats stretches that could be comfortable for you and repeat it 3 times a daily basis.
  • If movement improves, you can increase the duration of stretches.
  • For this exercise, you don’t need any expensive tools, so don’t need to worry about.
